Profile
Ham Jian is Editor-in-Chief of ClinicJapan.net and CEO of RiskIntel Corp, based in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. He spent years inside the Korean aesthetic medicine industry building digital marketing and appointment-booking SaaS for foreign patients, and now works on independent media and medical information research for the Japanese market.
That industry experience is the reason this site exists. Working on the supply side made a structural problem obvious: almost everything a patient can read is produced by the provider selling to them, and the gap is worst for foreign patients, who cannot easily read the domestic sources that would let them cross-check. He founded ClinicJapan in March 2026 to fill that gap, on an editorial basis that accepts no advertising and no PR placements.

Why ClinicJapan was founded
For Japanese readers, the available information is dominated by clinic-produced marketing; independent coverage that sets out real price structures, risks and the limits of each procedure is thin. For foreign readers the problem inverts — Japanese practice operates under a physician licensing system, medical advertising regulations, and pharmaceutical and device controls under the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act, and almost none of that institutional context reaches English-language sources. Both audiences end up making expensive decisions on partial information.
ClinicJapan addresses both: a Japanese site for domestic readers and an English site for visitors, built on the same sourcing standard and the same refusal of advertising revenue.
Editorial responsibility
As Editor-in-Chief he is responsible for editorial policy, quality standards and final review of published content. Medical information policy is separately reviewed by Dr. So Takeuchi, a board-certified dermatologist, at site level. Where an article states something that is editorial judgement rather than a sourced finding, that distinction is labelled in the article's own sources section.
Other work
RiskIntel Corp operates independent verification-led media in areas where judgement is difficult and marketing dominates: ClinicSeoul.net for Korean cosmetic medicine, alongside work in financial trading research. The common thread is the same — publishing what the seller does not.
